Lions4Life: Rugby reality series (SuperSport)
Role: Creative Director & Producer · Year 2011 — 2017 · Category — Film/TV.
Pioneering Format
Built South Africa’s first rugby reality micro-doc format, successfully delivering over 100 episodes.
Deep-dive
Problem
The challenge was to humanise elite athletes and strengthen the bond between the Lions franchise and supporters. This had to be achieved in a format that seamlessly fits broadcast schedules and travels across social channels without reliance on gimmicks.
Community Integration
Integrated broadcast, social, and live activations effectively to deepen fan affinity and boost sponsor interest.
Repeatable Cadence
Established a repeatable weekly cadence with a lean motion/edit pipeline and consistent story beats for maximum efficiency.
Approach
We deployed serialised 5–7-minute micro-docs for both broadcast and social distribution. The strategy included live activations and fan feedback loops to fine-tune story arcs. We operated with a compact crew, maintaining a tight storyboard-to-edit rhythm, and ensured consistent thumbnail and title systems for immediate brand recognition and continuity.
Outcome
The project resulted in sustained audience growth and increased sponsor interest. Crucially, a repeatable, scalable content system was established, allowing the team to effortlessly maintain quality season-over-season.
Lions4Life: Visual Storytelling
Electronic Arts (EA): AAA Game Cinematics
Role: Cinematic & Storyboard Artist · Years — 2005–2008 · Category — Gaming.
VFX/HUD Design
Designed impactful VFX and HUD elements that clearly communicate stakes without introducing visual clutter or noise.
Deep-dive: Cinematic Grammar
The Problem
Creating a cohesive cinematic language that consistently amplifies gameplay narrative without actively disrupting player agency or immersion.
The Approach
Utilised shot-driven storyboards and focused on interface/HUD passes for utmost clarity. Close, iterative collaboration was maintained with directors and editorial teams. The guiding principle was emotion over exposition; letting the UI carry critical information efficiently.
Concept Art
Built environment concepts and detailed matte-painting guides for LOTR: Battle for Middle-earth II, defining world aesthetic.
The Outcome
The result was a cohesive tone and dynamic pacing across all trailers and cutscenes. A unified visual grammar was established that production teams could effectively reuse and adapt across multiple game titles
Storyboarding
Storyboarded key narrative beats for C&C 3, collaborating on trailers and in-game cutscenes for maximum impact.
TPN Credit Bureau: Content Studio & Livestream Program

Studio & Livestream Launch
Designed and launched an in-house studio and repeatable livestream/content format.
Strategic Workflow Design
Designed and implemented strategic workflows, focusing on systematic pre-production and refined editorial processes, to optimize planning and maintain craft without compromise.
Engagement Growth
Doubled YouTube engagement and achieved ~200% social growth with consistent cadence
Deep-dive
Problem
TPN required a scalable, brand-consistent content strategy to educate and engage customers while eliminating dependency on costly ad-hoc production. The challenge was delivering weekly, high-trust content that could seamlessly scale across YouTube and social platforms without exponential cost increases or timeline pressures.
Approach
I architected an integrated studio ecosystem encompassing lighting design, audio engineering, multi-camera capture, and comprehensive show production workflows. This included developing a systematic livestream format with structured segments: strategic opens, expert-driven content, interactive Q&A, and optimized clip distribution. I implemented strategic pre-visualization for camera choreography and comprehensive editorial frameworks—covering SEO optimization, content chaptering, clip extraction protocols, and quality assurance systems—enabling a lean team to maintain consistent weekly delivery.
Outcome
Delivered a scalable content infrastructure that doubled YouTube engagement metrics, achieved 200% social media growth, and established complete operational independence for the internal team with minimal external dependencies.
